A sunken slab doesn't always mean you need a new one. If the concrete itself is still in good shape and the problem is that it settled unevenly, usually because the soil or base underneath shifted or washed out, leveling can raise it back into place for a fraction of what replacement costs. Mudjacking versus polyjacking

Mudjacking pumps a cement-based slurry underneath the sunken slab through small drilled holes, filling the void and lifting the concrete back to grade. It's a proven, well-established method that works well on larger areas. Polyjacking uses an expanding polyurethane foam instead, injected through much smaller holes. The foam is lighter, cures faster, and won't wash out or erode under the slab the way some fill materials can over time.

When leveling makes sense versus replacement

Leveling works when the concrete itself is structurally sound, just sitting at the wrong height. If the slab is badly cracked, crumbling, or broken into multiple pieces, leveling won't fix that, and replacement is the more honest recommendation.
