We work throughout Omaha and the surrounding Nebraska communities, including Bellevue, Papillion, La Vista, Gretna, Elkhorn, Ralston, Bennington, Millard, Springfield and Plattsmouth.
Spring and fall usually give the most predictable curing conditions, but we pour through summer heat and cooler weather too with the right mix and curing steps. We plan the pour around the forecast rather than rushing it into bad conditions.
Service area
We stay inside Douglas County and the towns around Omaha on purpose. A tight radius means we can get back out to a job the week you call instead of the month after.
Omaha sits on clay and loess soil that swells when it is wet and shrinks when it dries out, and that movement is behind most of the sunken walks and cracked driveway panels we get called about. Add in a real freeze-thaw winter and de-icing salt on top of that, and concrete here takes a beating that milder climates never see.
Bellevue is Nebraska's oldest city, and a lot of its older streets sit on bluffs above the Missouri River, which means drainage and slope matter more here than in flatter parts of the metro. We pay close attention to grading on every patio and driveway pour so water moves away from the house instead of pooling against the foundation.
Papillion has grown fast over the last two decades, and most of the concrete we see here is newer construction dealing with normal settling rather than decades of accumulated damage. The exception is drainage around patios backing up to retention areas, which is common in the newer developments east of Highway 370.
La Vista is a compact, mostly built-out city, so a lot of our calls here are repair and replacement on driveways and walks poured in the 1970s through 1990s rather than new installs. Narrow lots also mean access and staging matter more when we plan a pour.
Gretna is one of the fastest-growing parts of the metro, and most of our work here is new driveways, patios and garage floors on freshly graded lots. Getting the compacted base right matters even more on new subdivision soil that has not had time to settle on its own.
Elkhorn was its own town before Omaha annexed it in 2007, and the area still has that small-town mix of older farmhouses near the river and newer subdivisions built out over the last twenty years. In towns like Elkhorn, no two patios are exactly the same, since lot size and grading vary a lot block to block.
Bennington has shifted from a small rural town to one of the faster-growing suburbs north of Omaha, and most of the concrete work we take on here is new construction: driveways, garage floors and patios on newly developed lots.
Millard was its own city until Omaha annexed it in 1971, and it still feels like a distinct part of the metro with its own school district and identity. Housing here spans several decades, so we see everything from aging 1970s driveways to newer construction near 168th Street.
Springfield is a small town on the edge of the metro, closer to the Platte River, and a lot of the properties we work on here have more acreage than you find inside Omaha proper, which usually means longer driveways and bigger concrete footprints per job.
Plattsmouth is the Cass County seat, set on bluffs above the Missouri and Platte rivers, and a lot of the older concrete in town has to deal with more slope and drainage challenges than flatter parts of the metro. We have taken on projects in communities like Springfield and Gretna with the same river-bluff grading issues.
